Folk Dance Ensemble TarbatuIn 1951 students from Estonian Agricultural Academy separated from the Tartu University group of dancers to form their own dance group. Our dancers have been instructed by:
In 1983 the dance group was named ensemble, followed by adding Tarbatu to the title in 1990.
The repertoire of the ensemble has always been rich with variety. The ensemble has been active in performing dances from most Estonian authors including folk dance from folklore and modern stage folk dance. We have been and continue to perform national dances from other countries and contemporary dance styles. While learning a new repertoire we prefer to ask for the guidance of the original author if such an opportunity is available. |
