Participation in  the 12th World Folkdance Festival

10th – 14th of April. Another folk dance festival took place in Mallorca. Tarbatu arrived on the 9th and returned to Estonia on the 16th of April.

There was only a procession on the first day. In the morning of the second day the organizers set up a workshop for all the participants where some of the groups taught their own dances to the others.

In the morning of the 12th of April there was a dance competition. All the groups had to wait their turn backstage and couldn't see the other groups dancing.

The ending ceremony took place on the 14th. The organizers called out the winners of the dance competition and awarded them prizes. This time the best dancers were from the Philippines who danced about heroes, warriors and naturally - beautiful girls.

The weather was often quite rainy and as a consequence, some of the performances were cancelled. But we didn't just sit around. We had a road trip through the island. We visited a Majorican pearl factory,a glass factory and also went sightseeing to other places. One day we couldn’t resist and climbed to the top on the second highest mountain in the area (the highest was on military territory so it was off-limits). It was 1069 meters high. A pile of stones sat on the top of the mountain and anyone could add their own stone. So we did.

The return trip started on the 16th of April through Barcelona to Tallinn.
